Patient Bedrooms

Studies have established that a pleasant environment will aid the healing process and patient areas need to be designed taking this into account.

Colour coordinated furniture and finishes play a leading part in achieving the goal and we have an extensive range of colours available in laminate, melamine and Compact grade material as shown on our colours range download. Please contact us to request samples.

Cabinets, Worktops, Wardrobe units, Bedside furniture, IPS and Bedhead walling with medical supply gases can all be coordinated to help provide the needed effect.

Haematology Extension

The two-storey Haematology extension at Southampton General Hospital aimed to modernise the department and create a more efficient, patient-centred environment through close collaboration between hospital staff, architects, and partners. A key focus was improving patient bedrooms to enhance comfort during long isolation periods. Notably, the project introduced a colour-coded zoning system, aligning patient areas with matching drug prep cabinets to streamline workflows and support clinical efficiency.

Improved Efficiency – Clinicians had everything they needed within their designated zones, reducing time spent locating medications and minimising disruption caused by multiple staff members accessing the same space.

Enhanced Clarity – Colour-coded zones made it immediately clear which preparation area aligned with each patient room, supporting safer and more accurate medication delivery.

A Better Patient Environment – The use of colour not only improved operational functionality but also softened the clinical feel of the space, contributing to a more welcoming and therapeutic setting for patients.
