In Accident and Emergency departments supplies and equipment must be readily available at all times to respond to unpredictable patient volumes, ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies.
Reliable workflows, supported by well-designed cabinetry and smart storage solutions, are vital to keeping essential supplies accessible at speed. Strong systems, clear communication, and effective organisation enable staff to work efficiently and deliver high-quality care, even under unpredictable demand.

St Richard’s Hospital – SDEC
We were delighted to support the transformation of the newly-completed Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust’s St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester (2025). Delivered in just 14 weeks and procured via SCAPE, the £6 million refurbishment converted a former acute medical unit into a modern facility with an open-plan waiting area, triage and procedure rooms and 18 chair or trolley bays. The Systeméd manufactured-furniture solution from Stirling Medical was specified to create a flexible clinical environment, seamlessly integrating modular joinery, relevant power/data services and hygienic surfaces, enabling the unit’s mission to assess, diagnose and treat patients within the same day and reduce overnight admissions.
